Built for Zero communities celebrate milestones at Chicago Learning Session

It’s been a hard two years, and yet Built for Zero communities have continued to do heroic work housing vulnerable people, committing to quality data, and finding innovative ways to produce system change. At the Spring 2022 Learning Session in Chicago, Built for Zero recognized all of the milestones that communities have reached in the past six months and beyond.

Six communities have achieved quality by-name data in the last six months:

Clark County, Washington – veteran and chronic

Marin County, California – veteran

Western Virginia – veteran

San Diego City and County, California – veteran

Nevada County, California – veteran

Colorado BOS – Pueblo – veteran and chronic

Citizens rejoice: Our community has quality data

Four communities have reduced their active homeless number by 20% or more in the past six months:

Colorado BOS – Mesa County – veteran

Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota – chronic

Tennessee Valley Region – veteran

Yamhill County, Oregon – veteran

Four communities have made shifts happen in the last six months:

Six communities have been sustaining functional zero for more than two years:

Arlington County, Virginia – veteran

Bergen County, New Jersey – veteran and chronic

Gulf Coast Region, Mississippi – veteran

Lake County, Illinois – veteran

Rockford, Winnebago & Boone County, Illinois – veteran and chronic

Texas BOS – Abilene – veteran and chronic

Fourteen communities have achieved functional zero for veterans, chronic, or both:
